The Primary Bedroom
I wanted our primary bedroom to exude a similar charm that you would find in a luxurious French country hotel. Everyone's home is their sanctuary, and for the primary bedroom of our house, I wanted a calm but elegant interior design with a nod to the French country style. I will say that the mural really does make me feel a sense of place every time I enter the room - almost like entering a boutique hotel in St. Emilion.
I definitely wanted to lean on the side of glam with elements of rustic elegance, but overall, I wanted to avoid the farmhouse feel. The emotions I wanted for this room were comfort, refinement, and tranquility.

Bed & Bedding
I wanted the bed to be striking and when I found this Melange Poster Bed from Hooker, I was...hooked. I absolutely love the champagne color that changes in various natural light throughout the day.

The bedding is a mixture of a comforter set and velvet quilt (and I change the textile preferences throughout the seasons). The pillows are a perfect marriage to the champagne notes of the bed itself.
Accent pieces
During the pandemic, we waited 6 months for these beauties to be delivered, but it was all worth it when I saw this space come to life with the mirrored dressers.

Styled book (which I recommend you also read): Adventures on the Wine Route

The nook
I did not want a TV presence to be noticeable in the bedroom, but I did want the option for watching a movie in bed when needed, so this corner of the room was styled to keep the feeling of charm + coziness (while still being a place for a TV). The secretary's desk is vintage as it was from my grandpa's home. I repainted it and updated the hardware so we could use it in this room. I cherish this corner due to the connection this piece of furniture has with my family. The teacup is from one of my trips to Italy and the antique serving tray was an estate sale find in Washington, D.C.

The Mural
The artwork that really brings this French-inspired space together is the French countryside mural created by Anewall. This took our wallpaper installer about 5 hours to put up, and it is quite stunning!

Mirror
Yes, every room in my home has some large mirror presence in it - guilty! I just love the elegance and dimension they bring to a wall.
My favorite places to find statement mirrors are estate sales or antique shops, so I really recommend that!
